Electronic Medical Software (EMR® HMIS Enterprise Application Server)

Key Benefits

The EMR® HMIS Server License runs off the Apache Tomcat web application container. This server is assessible through a web interface (Web Enabled). The EMR® HMIS server enables hospitals and healthcare institutions to process and Manage:

The EMR® HMIS Server also provides a rich user and easy to use interface to process system roles, page configurations and access control, session management, permissions management and password managements.

Deployment

EMR® HMIS Server is deployed on physical servers typically in a rack within server rooms. It can run on servers with 4GIG RAM, 160GB HDD and typical pentium core series of processors. It is typical to separate the deployment of the application servers from the database servers since there is a possibility for data to grow exponentially within healthcare environments. Most times, the application and the database management servers can co-exist within one server and later on can be separated as time goes!

Security

EMR® HMIS Server works with a high level of data protection mechnism. Patient-Diagnosis tables are encrypted fully and access is granted only through the application layer within the identity aware enterprise framework, the Orbita®.

There is no possibility to access healthcare records from the application layer without the relevant roles and from the data layer directly, it is difficult since it is AES encrypted. Data in transit between the client and server is hashed and protected for identity using MD5. The security suite of services within the Seamfix EMR® HMIS Server application is top notch. There is a full activity audit of all actions in the EMR® HMIS Server and Client applications (See Appendix B Screen shots).
